The (almost) lost art of Canning :)

Last weekend my momma came to town!!!!
I love it when my momma comes! :) Most often she comes to play, but this time she came with a purpose!! (Well more of a purpose than playing with her sister and me!)
She came to help my grama can! Which means I got to learn how to can!! (They were canning a lot of food for my husband and me!!)
So my hubby and I went up to Syracuse to participate in all the fun!

We needed a place to sleep! 

Saturday morning started all the festivities! We canned soooooo much stuff!!!

First we did applesauce (my absolute favorite!!!! in fact i'm kind of obsessed with applesauce!!! add some evaporated milk and cinnamon and sugar and it's seriously the greatest thing on earth!!! But the best is with home canned applesauce!!!) It was so fun to learn how to do this! Our little Kelsi kept us very entertained... She tasted and helped in every way she could!!

After applesauce my aunt made us some yummy pear raspberry jam!! 

3 of the most amazing women I know!!! Love you guys!! 

Tyler and I then helped with Raspberry Jam!! Yummy!!! 

We also did peaches and pears, and my momma and grama did chicken and green beans!!! We are soooo excited for all our canned foods!!! :) 

During all the canning my grampa and the Nielsen boys worked on a shed my grampa is building!!

After a long day Tyler couldn't help by spoil miss Kelsi with her favorite pringles! 

and then he left his clothes and pringles in the bathroom after his shower.... silly boy;) 

Haha Oh well!! I sure love the man!!! :) 

Oh and yay for being married for 3 months!!! 

 Time truly flies when you get to spend it with your best friend!!! 

Lava Hot Springs

Well it was quite an eventful three day weekend, and such a wonderful way to celebrate the end of summer and the start of school! ;) 

Tyler and I went up to Lava Hot Springs with his parents and good family friends!! 
We had such a good time!! 
On Saturday we actually spent the day (or most of the day) at the pool! 

Tyler and I sampled these super fun slides and much to our surprise Mark and Heidi agreed to come on them with us!! 

They had a wonderful time and so did we!! But I'm pretty sure the slides whipped Mark out. ;) 

But he was up and ready to cook dinner the next day!!! 

Tyler and I spent Sunday pretty under the weather :( 

But we still enjoyed games and even a ATV ride. (And Tyler crashed on the Motorcycle... silly boy) 

All in all it was a super great way to spend our weekend!!! :) 

Look at how dang attractive my husband is!! :)
